Uruguay, officially called the Eastern Republic of the Uruguay, is located in the southeastern part of South America, with Montevideo as the capital and largest city, and has an estimated population of 3.5 million people. On June 8 this year, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (Ministerio de Trabajo eSeguridad Social) launched the “Objetivo Empleo” program with the goal to create up to 3,000 jobs per year.

NorthgateArinso continued its acquisition strategy last month by acquiring the mid to large company payroll provider Neller Software. The Neller brand name and long association with the Australian payroll market makes the acquisition a very important step in the war for payroll market share.
